‘Latyan’ finishes production, expected to premiere at Fajr film festival

Iran's ‘Latyan’ finishes the production stage with its likely premiere to be at Fajr Film Festival.

Iran's ‘Latyan’ has finished the production stage, with its premiere expected to be at the upcoming edition of Fajr Film Festival.

‘Latyan’, Ali Teymouri’s directorial debut, is currently undergoing the post-production stage.

The film, produced by Majid Matlabi, is expected to premiere at the 38th Fajr Film Festival in Iran.

“Latyan is a dam. A barrier to human relations. The rivers of relations have piled up at the dam and the way is blocked. Someone wants to break this dam, but that person knows well that such task is not easy as the city will be ruined. So, what will happen?” a synopsis for the film reads.

Written by Oktay Baraheni, ‘Latyan’ includes Parinaz Izadyar, Amir Jadidi, Sara Bahrami and Setareh Pesyani as impressive names on the cast list.

The 38th edition of Fajr Film Festival is set to kick off in the capital Tehran next year.

The festival coincides with the Ten-Day Dawn ceremonies across Iran, marking the 41st anniversary of the 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.
